This policy explains what cookies are, which ones we use on newlightdigital.com, what for, and how you can change your choice at any time.

Who processes the data

New Light Digital SRL, fiscal code 1020600015852, at Str. Mitropolit Varlaam 75, of. 29, Chisinau MD-2012, Republic of Moldova, is the data controller for this website. Write to us at [email protected] or call +373 69 138459 with any question about your data.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that the site stores in your browser. Together with similar technologies such as localStorage or tracking pixels, cookies let the site recognize your browser on a later visit.

A cookie cannot run programs and cannot read files on your device. It can, however, hold a unique identifier which, together with your IP address, makes it possible to tell one visitor from another. For that reason, cookies that are not strictly necessary are treated as personal data under Law no. 195/2024 on personal data protection.

What we ask you, and why

On your first visit we show a banner with three options of equal weight: accept every category, refuse them all, or choose category by category. Until you choose, nothing is written to your device beyond the strictly necessary cookies.

Refusing does not limit your access to the site or your ability to contact us in any way. Every page, every article and the contact form work exactly the same either way.

The categories we use

Strictly necessary. These make the site work: the language you picked, the record of your cookie choice itself, and the check that tells a person submitting the contact form apart from an automated one. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and available, and in delivering the page in the language you asked for (art. 6(1)(f) of Law no. 195/2024). They cannot be switched off, because without them the site cannot do what you asked of it.

Statistics. These show us, in aggregate, which pages are read, where visitors come from and how long they stay, so we know which work is worth doing again. This category also covers the record the site keeps of how you reached us, which is attached to your message if you send us one, so we can reply in context. Legal basis: your consent.

Marketing. These let us measure which advertising campaign led to an enquiry. Legal basis: your consent.

The feedback widget. The site loads a feedback widget (Appzi) through which you can tell us what was hard to use. It stores no cookie and no information in your browser, which is why it is shown regardless of your cookie choice: it has nothing to ask permission to store. The supplier does receive your IP address, as any service loaded from another domain does. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in finding out what does not work well on the site (art. 6(1)(f)).

There is no Preferences category on this site, because we do not set any cookie that only remembers a choice of that kind.

The cookies we set

The table below is the full list, by category. Every entry was measured on this site rather than copied from a supplier's documentation. The durations shown are maximums; many expire sooner.

Third-party providers and transfers outside the Republic of Moldova

Some of the statistics and marketing cookies are set by the third-party providers named in the table above. Those providers act as independent or joint controllers for their own processing, and their privacy policies apply alongside ours.

Their servers sit outside the Republic of Moldova. Google, Meta and Cloudflare process in the European Union and the United States. Yandex processes on servers in the Russian Federation. Transfers rely on standard contractual clauses and on the guarantees each provider gives in its own terms, and they happen only if you have given consent for the category concerned.

How long we keep your choice

Your choice is kept for 6 months in a first-party cookie. After that we ask again. We also ask again sooner if we change what we use cookies for.

We keep a separate record of consent: the time, the categories accepted, the version of the policy, and a random identifier, together with an irreversibly encrypted form of your IP address and browser. That record exists so we can demonstrate consent, as art. 7(1) of Law no. 195/2024 requires, and it is not used to track you.

How to change your choice

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time, as easily as you gave it, from the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawal takes effect going forward and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand.

Refusing a category does more than stop new cookies: what that category already stored on your device is deleted at the same time. Cookies set on a third party's own domain, such as facebook.com, cannot be reached by this site and have to be cleared in your browser.

You can also delete or block cookies directly in your browser. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will stop the language choice and the contact form check from working.

Changes

We update this policy whenever we change the tools we use. The date of the last update is shown at the top of the page. If a change alters the purposes of processing, we will ask for your consent again.
